The popular “Snap” feature that was available during the Xbox One era, is likely to never return in future updates.
As spotted by Eurogamer, in response to a Follower’s reply on a Twitter thread, an Xbox engineer suggested that we might never see the Snap feature again.
Eden Marie, the Xbox engineer in question, responded to a fan pleading to see Snap return. “If possible, please bring the snap feature back would be amazing. It’s a feature I and most of the community miss,” said SammyV604.
Please Snap, come back!

However, being the bearer of bad news, Eden Marie replied: “While we all miss Snap, I don’t think it’s coming back.”
In case you didn’t know, Snap was quite a handy little feature. It allowed gamers to place an app on one side of the screen, such as a YouTube video while still being able to play video games simultaneously. Essentially, it allowed Xbox One gamers to multi-task.
While we all miss snap, I don’t think it’s coming back.

Snap ain’t coming back!
In response to Eden Marie’s reply, other Xbox fans shared their disappointment with the news.
Snap was one of the main reasons I switched from @PlayStation to @xbox. Been a PS guy since gen 1. Always held out hope it would come back. Guess I’ll be going back to PS in the future since the Xbox is solely a games console again and PS has better exclusives.

The Snap feature was dropped by Microsoft following an Xbox system update in 2017. So, it’s been five years since we’ve been able to use the feature. Will this feature ever return should fans continue to request it? Only time will tell.
