Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Gets a New Release Date

Previously planned for a September 2022 release date, Monolith Soft’s Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is arriving earlier than expected! The latest entry in the long-running Xenoblade series will instead be out 2 months earlier, on 29th July 2022.

The earlier release date came in a new trailer, also revealing new game elements, a first look at the dynamic battle system, and more of its story – with “life” as the central theme of this grand tale.

Set after 2010’s Xenoblade Chronicles and 2017’s Xenoblade Chronicles 2, players will step into the roles of protagonists, Noah and Mio. Between fighting nations, Keves and Agnus, you’ll see six characters from those nations joining together to learn the truth as to why their lands are in such a conflict. Their quest sees them head to Swordsmarch, an appropriately named land pierced by a giant sword.

The trailer shows that the group’s journey will take players through Aionios, a massive and beautiful natural world. The new details of the battle system have also revealed you’ll battle with up to seven characters, making way for diverse strategies as you’ll coordinate those of various classes to play to their strengths and optimise your customised party.

What we’ve also got a look of, is the new Interlink System. If certain conditions are met, tag-team pairs; Noah and Mio, Lanz and Sena, Eunie and Taion; can combine into a giant form called Ouroboros. Each with their own powerful set of movies, deciding when to transform and utilise your Ouroboros will be key to winning the battle.
