30 Minutes Of ‘The Quarry’ Gameplay Shown By Supermassive

Supermassive Games has given us a first look at its upcoming The Quarry with a 30 minute long gameplay trailer.

Last month, Supermassive Games officially unveiled its next game, The Quarry, a slasher set at a summer camp. This next title from the horror developer very much seems to be a spiritual successor to Until Dawn. And now, thanks to a first look from IGN, we have 30 minutes of gameplay to take a look at.

Unsurprisingly, gameplay doesn’t look to be too different from any of Supermassive Games previous titles. The gameplay takes place during the game’s prologue, and features Skyler Gisondo as Max, Siobhan Williams as Laura, and Ted Raimi as Travis. If you see the name Raimi and think ‘Sam Raimi?’, that will be because Ted Raimi is Sam’s brother.

Fans have been wanting some kind of followup to Until Dawn for a long while now. While The Dark Pictures Anthology has proven to be popular, fans have wanted something more trope oriented, and a return to the slasher genre.

How The Quarry will bring a unique take on the genre remains to be seen. But it certainly has a star studded cast. With actors like David Arquette (the Scream series), Justice Smith (Detective Pikachu), and Brenda Song (The Suite Life of Zack and Cody), there’s quite a range of big names attached to the project.

The Quarry isn’t the only game Supermassive has in active development. The studio’s next Dark Pictures game, The Devil In Me, is also on the way. And it stars Oscar-nominated actress Jessie Buckley too.
