Clive Barker’s Hellraiser antagonist Pinhead is heading to Dead By Daylight, according to a recent announcement [via VGC].
Revealed via Twitter, the classic horror icon is joining the likes of Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers and Leatherface.
As you can see, the Dead By Daylight Hellraiser trailer doesn’t give too much away. However, players who have experienced test builds of the new licenced characters have said that Pinhead is equipped with chains, just like in the movie. I mean, what would Pinhead be without his whips and chains?
Clive Barker has been involved with video games before. In fact, the horror novelist even produced his own first-person shooter, Clive Barker’s Jericho, back in 2007. Yet, Pinhead’s inclusion in Dead By Daylight is actually the character’s gaming debut. While a Hellraiser game was planned for the Nintendo Entertainment System back in the ’90s, the project was inevitably cancelled.
Hopefully, Dead By Daylight’s Hellraiser DLC provides fans with the video game experience they’ve been waiting for. While horror fans are spoiled for choice when it comes to playable Dead By Daylight characters, perhaps Pinhead’s inclusion will entice more players to try out the game.
In other Dead By Daylight news, the horror PvP’s Stranger Things DLC will be leaving the game this November. However, fans of the ’80s infused show will be able to grab the DLC as part of a “Last Chance Sale” before it departs.
