90-year-old YouTube gamer Hamako Mori now officially holds the Guinness World Record for the oldest gamer on the video platform. The YT star, who has over 270 thousand subscribers, has been gaming for nearly 40 years and has credited the hobby for her long life.

In a video by Guinness World Records, Hamako – better known as Gamer Grandma – discusses her love of gaming, explaining that she’s found herself now playing action games – something she never used to do as she found them quite difficult.
Speaking of one of her favourite games, she says: “GTA 5, that’s a really fun game. When you start playing you can’t stop. It feels as if you are watching a film. I feel it is a really great game. The graphics are really stunning. It really is film-like!”

Explaining how she got started in gaming, she says: “Children around me played games, and I thought it looked fun. It seemed a waste that only children got to play these games.”
She goes on to say that more elderly people should play video games, explaining that her life is “rosy,” due in no small part to video games.

Gamer Grandma has been on YouTube since 2014, and she’s admitted she plays video games for up to eight hours a day.
Though she loves GTA 5, she’s also a bit of a horror fan. Games on her channel include the likes of Bend Studio’s Days Gone and Capcom’s recently-released Resident Evil 3 Remake. She’s also been enjoying Final Fantasy 7 Remake, along with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
