Activision Teases Call Of Duty: Warzone Event Happening Today

It seems as though Activision and Infinity Ward are gearing up for a Call of Duty: Warzone event, which could be happening as soon as…well, today (May 21).

As spotted by MP1st, those with Call of Duty Mobile installed on their phones recently began to receive the following push notification, which has definitely raised more than just a few eyebrows in the CoD community.

As you can see in the image from MP1st, the message reads as follows: “On 19 MAY at 2337 ZULU, Coalition SIGINT intercepted flash traffic from AQ regions; command outside of Verdansk.

Message calls for a priority IP call with an unknown. Suspected recipient is TARGET DENVER

Timing of meeting unknown – suspected for 21 MAY. Location to be confirmed. Surveillance activity had been authorized. MAINTAIN VIGILANCE ON COMMS FOR LOCATION OF ENEMY SURVEILLANCE.

The reference to Verdansk, CoD Warzone’s map which has recently been discovered to have nuclear warheads underneath it, is what’s key here. Considering this was received by CoD Mobile players, we could be looking at some sort of cross-over event between the two games, or perhaps the Warzone Verdansk map will be heading to Mobile?

Something is definitely brewing over at Infinity Ward. Warzone’s Fourth Season is set to begin in the coming weeks, and the mysterious bunkers in Verdansk have started opening (with the help of Keycards, of course). While some players think we might be in for a tease for the next CoD game, others are just as confused as us.

What the heck is happening out there, and will we find out today? Is this just to amp up the excitement for Season Four, or are we really looking at a CoD 2020 reveal? One thing’s for certain – it might be time to reinstall Call of Duty Mobile!
