Update [3:48PM]: Outright Games has now confirmed it is working on a family-friendly Star Trek game. More details will be coming later this year.
Original article: A new Star Trek game has leaked ahead of an official reveal, with more details apparently coming soon.
Star Trek fan website TrekCore posted a set of images yesterday leaking a brand new game set in the sci-fi universe (thanks, GamesRadar). The images show a banner revealing the game.
Titled Star Trek: Prodigy – Supernova, the game seems like it will be released on PC, Xbox One and Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch. And it will be developed by Outright Games, with more information supposedly coming in May. No other details have emerged yet regarding the game.
Outright Games is no stranger to officially licensed games. The developer has worked on game adaptations of Ben 10, Ice Age, Jumanji, Steven Universe, and more. Considering the fact that Outright Games has traditionally made kids games, and that this Star Trek game seems to be published by Nickelodeon, it’s probably safe to say this game will be geared towards a younger audience. The key art used shows more cartoony character designs too, again pointing in a child friendly game direction.
However, according to the banner the rating of the game is currently pending. Spanish developer Tessera Studios also appears to be working on the project. But obviously without more details, it’s unclear in what capacity.
Looks like we’ll have to wait until May for some concrete information on this new Star Trek game.
