The problem with having a highly-successful game that’s often getting updated and patched is it’s open season for data miners. Data miners can easily sift through the game’s code to find out things of interest, and it means it’s pretty darn hard for developers to keep their future plans a secret.
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), that’s exactly what’s been happening with Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends.
The game has suffered from numerous leaks thanks to miners, and everything from the addition of the game’s first post-launch Legend, Octane, to the new map that’s potentially coming has already been exposed.
The latest leak of interest comes courtesy of Twitter, where one data miner appears to have uncovered something that could suggest a PvE (player vs. environment) mode might be coming to the game.

More fuel has been added to the fire of this rumour by players who think the game itself is hinting at a PvE mode.
I saw this on the PS Store which made me question this. Not a leak but the last section made me think pve pic.twitter.com/5aIjGXWUGC

Respawn will naturally keep quiet on the supposed leak, though they’ve made their stance on leaks very, very clear.
In a recent Reddit post, a Respawn community manager wrote: “Finding this stuff by no means confirms that it’ll ever come out. At best you should treat any posts about this as a rumor and the real info will come from us when we’re ready to show off what’s coming next.”
Guess we’ll keep waiting!
