Activision has confirmed the release of Call of Duty: Mobile, which will be available for both iOS and Android devices. The free-to-play game has been created with Tencent, using the Timi studio that brought PUBG to mobile.
“We are delivering the definitive, first person action experience in a new mobile title with incredible graphics and visceral Call of Duty gameplay,” said Chris Plummer, VP, Mobile at Activision. “Together with the amazing team at Tencent, we’re bringing together a collection of the most beloved maps, competitive modes, familiar characters and signature weapons from across this storied franchise into one epic experience for the first time on mobile.”
“Call of Duty is synonymous with incredible quality and gameplay, and our team couldn’t be happier working together with Activision to bring it to life on mobile,” said Steven Ma, SVP, Tencent Holdings Limited. “With our expertise creating games custom-built for mobile players, we’re excited to deliver a new, feature-packed Call of Duty experience that all types of fans will enjoy.”

The game itself promises “fan-favourite” maps, saying: “Take the heart-pounding, adrenaline-fueled action of Call of Duty® with you wherever you go. Play your way across multiple game modes as you engage in head-to-head battle through fan-favorite maps like Nuketown and Crash, all optimized for mobile. And the best part? It’s free to play with free updates.”
In an FAQ on the site, it’s confirmed that the game won’t just offer multiplayer – it’ll focus on it, stating: “Multiplayer is the foundation of Call of Duty®: Mobile. Team up with friends to play your favorite modes on iconic maps. Team Deathmatch on Nuketown? Got it. Frontline on Crash? Have that too. And we have a LOT more coming. Pre-register and follow us on social as we reveal more in the months to come.”
As of yet, there’s no confirmed release date for the mobile game. If you’re interested you can pre-register, which promises you updates and the chance to get in-game rewards.
