Amazon is stepping into the cloud gaming market, unveiling its brand new gaming service, Luna.

Announced during a hardware event, Amazon’s Luna will be available on PC, Mac, Fire TV, and iPhone and iPad, with an Android version planned for the future.
Cost-wise, the service will start at a pretty decent price of $5.99 USD a month, though Amazon has stated this is an introductory price available only during the service’s early access phase.

The $5.99 price tag will allow subscribers to play over 100 games at launch via the Luna Plus channel, across two devices simultaneously. 4K 60 FPS will be available for “select titles.”
Confirmed games so far include the likes of Control, Resident Evil 7, Abzu, GRID, Yooka-Laylee and A Plague Tale: Innocence. Meanwhile, a number of upcoming Ubisoft games have been confirmed to be playable from the day of their release.

In a statement, Amazon said the following: “Players who subscribe to this channel will have access to their favorite Ubisoft titles in up to 4K resolution, mobile gameplay, and access to new titles when the channel launches like Assassins Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, and Immortals Fenyx Rising the same day they release.
“This is the first of multiple Luna game channels in development, where customers can play games from their favorite publishers and genres.”
Twitch integration will be a part of the Luna service, making it a fairly solid purchase for streamers.

“Inside the Luna experience, players will see Twitch streams for games in the service, and from Twitch, they’ll be able to instantly start playing Luna games,” Amazon says [via TheVerge].
“Games can be played either with a mouse and keyboard or a Bluetooth controller. To go along with this, Amazon also announced its own Alexa-enabled Luna Controller, which will cost $49.99 during the early access period.”
It’ll be interesting to see if gamers take to Luna better than they took to Google Stadia…
