Another Sonic Movie Leak Has Surfaced & Fans Are Thrilled

Taking any existing franchise and adapting it for the big screen is always a gamble, and if you’re taking on the likes of the one and only Sonic the Hedgehog then you absolutely don’t wanna eff it up.

Unfortunately for Paramount, its plans for a live-action Sonic movie were dashed with the reveal of the movie’s first trailer, which was heavily criticised online.

The trailer featured a pretty terrifying-looking Sonic with teeth and no gloves. Yeah. Safe to say that SEGA fans weren’t best pleased.

It was then announced by the movie’s top dogs that Sonic would go back to the drawing board to make sure that fans weren’t disappointed in the final product.

We’ve now seen a couple of supposed leaks of the Sonic redesign creeping up online, and if the latest one is to be believed then the live action movie might not be such a disaster after all…

As shared by Sonic leaker @TailsChannel, the following image shows a much less terrifying hedgehog, and the internet is seriously hoping this leak is legit.

Earlier this year, the movie’s Jeff Fowler took to Twitter to announce that changes would take place following the backlash.

“Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes,” tweeted Fowler.

“It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie#gottafixfast”

Some time after, the movie’s producer, Tim Miller told Variety: “Look, I was with fans and so was Jeff. When the sh*t hit the fan, I went over there and said, ‘The most important thing to do, man, is say, ‘I f*cked up,’’

“He’d already sent a tweet out an hour before I got there. He’s a good man. It was exactly the right way to handle that. The fans have a voice in this too. There’s a right way to listen.”

Miller added, when asked if he’d seen the redesign: “in fact I have. And I think the fans will be pleased.”

Could the supposedly leaked image be the Sonic he’s referring to?

Following the change of plans, the Sonic the Hedgehog movie has been delayed. It’s now slated for a release date of 14 February 2020.
