If you’re a fan of classic arcade cabinet games then you’re in a for a treat, as it’s been confirmed that the iconic The House of The Dead 1 and 2 are both getting console remakes.
The news comes courtesy of game publishing company, Forever Entertainment, who shared the announcement on its social channels.

The company shared on Twitter: “Hi Guys! We confirm the signing of the agreement regarding remakes of the games ‘The House of the Dead’ and ‘The House of the Dead 2’.
“No platforms or release dates have been confirmed, and unfortunately we can’t say anything more for now. Please keep fingers crossed for us and follow our official channels.”
Forever Entertainment has previously published games across a wide range of platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One, PS4, iOS and Android. As per the official announcement, it’s not yet known which consoles/phones the new House of the Dead games will be landing on, but hopefully it’ll be all of them.
Judging from Forever Entertainment’s previously published games, it’s a safe bet to say that the Nintendo Switch will be getting House of the Dead and HotD 2.

Two staple cabinets of any visit to the arcade, SEGA’s House of the Dead games are a firm favourite amongst gamers of all ages. Not too much is known about the planned remakes as of yet, but I’m definitely keeping my eyes peeled for these games.
A recent viral Twitter thread has seen people share the love for their favourite arcade cabinets of yesteryear, and House of the Dead is pretty much everyone’s first choice.
The iconic 1990s light gun shooter arcade games holds fond memories for all gamers, so let’s hope that Forever Entertainment can do the titles justice with these remakes!
