Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag is reportedly getting a remake thanks to Ubisoft Singapore. Here’s everything we know so far.
Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag is the fourth instalment of the much-loved Assassin’s Creed series. First released back in 2013, the game was an instant-hit thanks to its cheeky protagonist Edward Kenway and his seafaring adventures.
Now ten years on, it has been reported that a remake is potentially in development.
Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag Is Reportedly Getting A Remake
This news comes courtesy of a report by Kotaku. It details how Ubisoft Singapore is currently working on development for a Black Flag remake for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
The sources who spoke to the site about this exciting news wish to remain anonymous as they have not had the go-ahead to speak about the project. As a result, we don’t know too much yet.
However, they have confirmed that the game is in the “early stages” of development. That means it will be a few years until we potentially see the remake.
Skull and Bones
However, not everybody is happy about this news considering Ubisoft Singapore are also at the head of development for Skull and Bones.
The pirate-themed action adventure game was first announced back in 2017 but has been faced with a whopping five delays. Despite us entering into our sixth year without the title, it is still yet to receive a concrete release date.
Now with news that the studio is working on an Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag remake, this could mean that Skull and Bones gets pushed back even further. If that’s possible.
With Assassin’s Creed making a lot of headlines recently, it is perhaps no surprise that another remake is on the cards.
With the upcoming release of AC Mirage this October as well as a mobile and VR game on the cards, the developers are very busy.
