Ubisoft has confirmed the first closed beta for Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade will go live this August. Here’s how you can get involved.
Assassin’s Creed Jade is one of Ubisoft’s many AC games set to launch over the next year. However, unlike the upcoming AC Mirage, this one will be coming to iOS and Android.
Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade – What We Know
Jade takes place between the events of AC Odyssey and AC Origins but this time you will find yourself in second century BC China during the Qin Dynasty. With the ability to create your own character, you will take on the role of the adopted child of master Wei Yu.
After your close friend is betrayed, you embark on a quest to get justice. However, Ubisoft teases that “as they delve deeper into their mission, they will uncover secrets about the past and a powerful force that threatens to destroy everything they hold dear.”
“From the Great Wall outside the empire’s borders to the imperial capital of Xianyang,” the synopsis continues, “journey through a world filled with ancient history and hidden dangers. Defend against the Xiongnu and work to dismantle conspiracies, taking on greater responsibilities, and facing new challenges.”
First Closed Beta
The beta was first announced back in June with a general “summer” launch date. Now the studio has revealed when fans will be able to experience ancient China for the first time.
The first closed beta for Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade will go live on August 3 for iOS and Android.
For those who wish to take part, you can register now. However, Ubisoft has said that there will be a limited number of places and players from North America and Western Europe will be randomly selected once registration closes.
Additionally, once you have signed up, you will first be expected to fill in a questionnaire before you can be selected. This will be emailed out between 27-31 July.
If you are lucky enough to be selected, the pre-download will begin on August 1 and the closed beta will run between 3-11 August.
With no release date for Jade, this will be one of the only times you can get your hands on the game so make sure to register if you don’t want to miss out.
