Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey is the latest game that will be treated to a new-gen 60fps update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey was released in 2018 and it is widely considered to be one of the best games in the series (at least recently). So, nearly three years after it was originally released, it’s nice to see that it has received a new-gen update.
The update which goes live today will boost the performance to 60 frames-per-second, though there appears to be no graphics upgrade, other than the basic new-gen resolution boost. Though I am not complaining.
The Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey update should be ready to go the next time you fire up the game on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and it is available for new-gen consoles via backwards compatibility.

On a personal level, I am over the moon that Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey has received this update, especially as it is a game to which I have quite recently returned.
Hopefully, this will be one of many games in the Assassin’s Creed franchise to receive new-gen updates. I’ll be having my fingers crossed for Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection.
