Content support for Back 4 Blood is ending, as the Left 4 Dead developer, Turtle Rock Studios moves on to something new.
News of Turtle Rock Studios ending development for Back 4 Blood was announced earlier this week in a blog post. “Greetings Cleaners. What an amazing year 2022 was for us,” said Turtle Rock.
B4B will get no further expansions
The developer continued: “First off, we wanted to thank all of you for making Back 4 Blood what it is today. With three expansions – Tunnels of Terror, Children of the Worm, and River of Blood – we’ve travelled on a fantastic adventure together beyond the walls of Fort Hope. This phase of our war against the Ridden now comes to a close.”

Turtle Rock Studios then went on to explain that with its small team, it simply does not have the resources to continue to support B4B with new content, while working on a new project. “Given this, it’s time for us to put our heads down, get back in the lab, and get to work on the next big thing,” it added.
Back 4 Blood will still be around, for now
Thankfully, however, despite receiving no further content, the game will still be supported and playable online. Well, at least for the foreseeable future.

“Back 4 Blood will continue to operate, of course,” concluded Turtle Rock. “In fact, Back 4 Blood is currently offered on PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers and available as part of Xbox Game Pass.”
At this time, we don’t know what Turtle Rock Studios’ next game will be. Though I wouldn’t hold your breath for a new Left 4 Dead. Unless…
