Billy Kametz Dies: ‘Persona’ And ‘Fire Emblem’ Voice Actor Was 35

Persona and Fire Emblem: Three Houses voice actor Billy Kametz has passed away aged 35.

Late last week, it had been announced that Billy Kametz had passed away after a battle with stage four colon cancer. “Anyone who has met Billy will tell you he is one of the most sincere, humble and loving people they have ever met,” reads the voice actor’s obituary. “His infectious personality and smile always lit up a room with so much joy and happiness.”

His love for his work as an actor and unforgettable voice will continue to entertain fans and always be remembered. Billy was always most gracious towards all of his fans and appreciated the opportunity to do something he loved so much each day.

Kametz had announced that he was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer in April of this year. A gofundme had been set up to help the actor pay for medical costs. The latest update for the gofundme notes that it will close on June 14, with any remaining funds going towards any outstanding treatment costs, and funeral bills.

Kametz was a prolific voice actor across both video games and anime. For video games, he was best known for his roles as Takuto Maruki in Persona 5, and Ferdinand von Aegier in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. As well as Blue in Pokémon Masters.

And he also played Josuke Higashikata in the anime Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, as well as Galo Thymos in Promare.
