EDIT: Since the time of writing, it’s been revealed the footage is fabricated. Original story as follows.
Alleged footage of a cancelled campaign for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has surfaced online, despite the fact the game was supposedly never planned to have a single player mode.

2018’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was a pretty big deal when it first landed, but it’s looked down on by a lot of players for one unmissable detail: the game didn’t include a campaign mode.
Though CoD games are generally remembered for their stellar multiplayer, the campaigns are still a hugely important part of the lore, and to have Black Ops 4 skip out on the idea was a little hard for many to swallow.

Despite developer Treyarch’s insistence that BO 4 was designed to be multiplayer-only, the newly-emerged Reddit leak, which appears to show a single-player campaign, begs to differ. (As always with rumours and leaks, take it with a smattering of salt).
Reddit user ForeverDexus has shared the following clip, which they claim is alpha footage from the scrapped single-player campaign. The jury’s still out on whether or not this leak is legit, but check it out below if you’re curious!
[LEAK] Black Ops 4 Campaign Gameplay from r/Blackops4
Although ForeverDexus doesn’t discuss where the footage came from, the user did hop into the comments of the post, writing: “I believe the mechanics of the campaign was going to be very similar to the multiplayer, which makes sense honestly. Also notice the ‘Find the Aquilus CEO’ notification at the top when the video starts? I think they really had a huge storyline here…
“I think people would appreciate seeing what they were working on, what could’ve been, etc. Me personally though, I’m still playing BO4 to this day and grinding DM lol.”

What do you think? Is this really scrapped footage from Black Ops 4, or is this a fan project with a message about the decision to cut the campaign?
