A Reddit user by the name of seanpr92 has revealed that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on Xbox Series X|S has an install size of nearly 190GB.
Cold war 187.9GB on series x from r/XboxSeriesX
The Reddit user posted an image on the forum revealing a mammoth installation size of 187.9GB for the latest game in the Call of Duty series.
For the initial install of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, it’s around 90GB in size. Additional storage is then reserved for multiplayer (27.6GB), Zombies (7.5GB) and Dead Ops Arcade (11.8GB).

A further 50GB is reserved for HD Textures (38.2GB) and for Ray-Tracing Data (11.2GB). However once Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is installed you can choose to uninstall the campaign, multiplayer or Zombies to free-up hard drive space.
It’s very well-known for the Call of Duty series to eat up hard drive space because to have everything installed from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare/Warzone you’re also looking at around 200GB.

The file size of Black Ops Cold War becomes quite the problem on the next-gen consoles especially if you wanted to experience the full game and why wouldn’t you?
The Xbox Series S only has a hard drive of 512GB, however 148GB is instantly taken away for system data storage, so that only leaves you with 364GB.
So if you had the full Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War installed on the Xbox Series S you will only be left with about 174GB of free storage.

The Xbox Series X which has a 1TB hard drive is left with 802GB of storage after system data is reserved.
You can, of course, purchase additional storage but seeing as the next-gen era has only just begun, keeping up with extra storage in the coming years is likely to become very costly.
