Reddit user Greenhouse95, who originally posted an image on Imgur, shared an image which appears to be the Far Cry 2 map to the r/GamingLeaksAndRumors sub.

Greenhouse95 said on the Reddit post: “I got the Ubisoft leak and found that this image was in there, and after searching for a long time for it on the Internet I couldn’t find it.”

After receiving the alleged leaked image, Greenhouse95 apparently searched the internet for an announcement regarding a Far Cry 2 remaster, but did not discover any such announcement.

“Could that mean that they are or were planning on doing a remaster of Far Cry 2?” said the Reddit user.

Fellow Reddit users replied on the thread believing that a Far Cry 2 remaster is possible.

“I think a FC2 remaster is inevitable. Maybe they’ll bundle it with a special edition of FC6 (Far Cry 6)” said one.

Recently Ubisoft have bundled remasters in season passes as with Far Cry 3: Classic Edition in the Far Cry 5 season pass.

Both Assassin’s Creed 3 and Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation were also included in the Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey season pass.

I must also mention that so far this is all unconfirmed speculation so we must take all rumours with a pinch of salt.

Earlier this year fans began campaigning for Far Cry 2 which originally released in 2008 to be remastered as evident in this petition. At the time of writing the petition has reached just under 1,300 signatures.

Far Cry 6 was originally set to release for current and next-gen consoles, as well as Google Stadia on February 18th, 2021.  However along with Rainbow Six: Quarantine, Far Cry 6 was delayed until after April 2021.
