Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta is the most successful ever in the series, Activision has confirmed.
This month the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta took place for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
What started as a closed beta for those that pre-ordered the game, soon became an open beta for all.

Call of Duty is one of the longest-running and most popular video games of all time, so it should come as little surprise that its recent beta was a major success. Not to mention that the series now features cross-progression.
While Activision hasn’t revealed solid numbers as of yet, the publisher did announce via a press release that the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta had the most players ever in the series.
Furthermore, it also had the most hours played as well as the most matches played across all formats.
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is also a success
Additionally, Call of Duty Warzone Mobile has also proven to be a massive success, despite not being released yet.
The publisher revealed that the mobile adaptation of Warzone was the fastest Activision Blizzard and King Mobile game to top 15 million pre-registrations on Google Play.

Activision has also said that those that pre-register for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will unlock the: “Emblem: Dark Familiar and Vinyl: Foe’s Flame as well as the X12 Prince of Hell Blueprint and M4 – Archfiend Weapon Blueprints when the game launches next year.”
The publisher teased that even more rewards will be revealed once the 25 million pre-registration goal is achieved.
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will be released sometime next year.
When does Call of Duty Modern Warfare release?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the sequel to the 2019 reboot, has a release date of October 28 2022 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
However, those that pre-order digitally will also get access to the single-player campaign a week early.
When does Warzone 2.0 release?
Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will release just a couple of weeks after Modern Warfare 2. The free-to-play battle royale will launch for PC, PlayStation and Xbox on November 16.
In related news, despite only being a beta, cheaters were plaguing the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta, ruining the fun for those unfortunate to encounter them.
