Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Free Trial Modes

The free event kicks off today (April 19) at 5pm BST/10am PT. It will run for a week and end on April 26. During this time, players will have access to 10 Modern Warfare 2 maps as well as 12 different modes.

The modes available will be 2v2 Gunfight mode which is an excellent introduction to the gameplay. Ground War and Invasion battle modes offer a more large-scaled version of Modern Warfare.

Lastly, participants will have access to 6v6 All or Nothing, Domination, Gun Game, Grind, Hardpoint, Infected, Kill Confirmed, One in the Chamber and Team Deathmatch.

A whole lot of maps

In the blog post announcing the free-trial, Activision also confirmed the maps that will be available to explore in these modes. These are:

Alley, Blacksite, Exhibit and Shipment which will be the battlegrounds for the Gunfight mode. The Santa Seña map will be home to Ground War and Invasion modes. Finally Dome, Farm 18, Himmelmat Expo, Pelayo’s Lighthouse, Shoot House and Shipment maps will be available for all the other modes listed.

To summarise, participants will have access to much of the same features as those who own the game. This is aimed to be an excellent incentive to bring together those who already own Modern Warfare 2 as they can play alongside those on the free-trial.
