Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone both received their weekly updates today (May 19), and the games have gotten some juicy new bits and bobs for you to get your teeth stuck into.
Perhaps most excitingly, Modern Warfare has gotten itself two brand-new maps for you to try out: Hardhat and Aisle-9.

For long-time players of the CoD series, Hardhat should definitely ring a few bells. Activision describes the new map as follows: “Hardhat, a Multiplayer map at the scene of construction site, is now available in its own 24/7 playlist. This map, first seen in Modern Warfare® 3, is a haven for close quarters, fast-paced, and frenetic combat, but also features some longer sightlines, so a variety of loadout types can find success. Re-experience Hardhat or jump in for the first time to learn the ins and outs of the map, and hopefully achieve victory in your next match.”

Meanwhile, the new Gunfight map is described as follows: “Aisle 9, the latest Gunfight map, is available in its own unique playlist – ‘Clean Up on Aisle 9’. The 3v3 playlist will host TDM, Kill Confirmed, Grind, and Domination, so players can discover multiple ways to fight on this small map. Aisle 9 will also be playable in the Gunfight map rotation, so stock up for a fight.”

Blood Money Quads are also returning to the game, so best get your fourth player ready!

For Warzone players, the new game update introduces a brand-new game mode, Classic Battle Royale.
While most game updates strive to introduce new ways to mix-up the tried and tested formulas, the Classic Battle Royale mode is taking things back to basics. The Warzone features you’re used to, such as Buy Stations, the Gulag and Contracts will all be gone, and the circle will be ever-collapsing. Once you die, you’re done, so this isn’t a going to be a mode for the faint of heart.
