Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Multiplayer Brings Back Tactical Nuke

Activision has been busy blessing the world with a tonne of new details on the next Call of Duty game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Since the game’s announcement earlier this summer, we’ve seen and heard quite a lot about the title, and it looks like it’s set to be one of the most exciting CoD additions in a while!

It’s now been confirmed that Modern Warfare‘s multiplayer mode will be bringing back a fan-favourite feature of yesteryear: the Tactical Nuke.

Sharing the news on Twitter, the official Call of Duty account simply said: “THE. NUKE. IS. BACK.”

Thanks to the Tactical Nuke, Modern Warfare players will be able to use a giant nuclear bomb that’ll affect the whole of the map – as long as they get a killstreak of 25 consecutive kills.

Detonating the nuke is a guaranteed win for the team that has it on their side, and setting one off with spawn a 10-second timer.

After time’s up, the game will slow down, killstreak rewards will explode and every single player on the map will die. Including yourself.

If you, or someone on your team sets off a nuke, it’s an automatic win for your side, even if the odds weren’t in your favour and the other team was winning (except in the case of Free For All matches).

So, when do we get to play CoD Modern Warfare for ourselves?

Well, thankfully, the beta is starting pretty darn soon.

On Twitter, CoD states: “You’ve seen it in action. Now, prepare for your assignment. The #ModernWarfare Multiplayer Beta arrives on September 12th. Pre-order now and get open beta early access, first on PS4.”
