We all need some time off work.

Call Of Duty Releases ‘Official’ Sick Note To Get You Off Work Today

Today’s the day – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has finally released on consoles and PC after months of waiting. Hooray! The latest addition to the iconic CoD franchise has received glowing praise from gamers and critics alike, and thankfully the weekend is nearly here, so it’s almost time to get playing.

If – like most of the world – you’re having to work or go to school today instead of getting to make your way through one of the best games of the year then don’t worry, Activision has your back.

The official Call of Duty account shared an almost-as-official sick note to Twitter to help you get out of your IRL obligations for the day, and it’s pretty funny.

The company said: “Forgot to get tomorrow off? Print out this letter and you just might spend the day playing #ModernWarfare anyway.”

The sick note reads: “I am writing to advise _____ is to be relieved of all current duties commencing 0001 hours on October 25. The circumstances of their absence are of a highly classified nature, hence should not be subject to questioning due to the sensitivity of activities during the aforementioned time period.

“Their contribution to the task at hand is of International Importance. You may overhear them discussing preparations for their time away, and we advise that you do not engage. Please disregard terminology ‘loadout,’ ‘sesh,’ ‘we on,’ ‘no scope,’ and ‘them Ws.’ As a citizen, this is none of your concern.”

The note is signed by a *ahem* Colin O’Duty.

We don’t recommend actually using this sick note to get out of your obligations today, but if you do then please upload it to social media. Please?
