“While we all look forward to playing the new seasons of Modern Warfare, Warzone and Call of Duty: Mobile, now is not the time.

“We are moving the launches of Modern Warfare Season 4 and Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7 to later dates.

“Right now it’s time for those speaking up for equality, justice and change to be seen and heard. We stand alongside you.”

No new launch day has yet been set.

Call of Duty isn’t the first delay to come from the current civil unrest and widespread protests that are rocking the globe.

Earlier this week, Sony confirmed that the highly-anticipated PlayStation 5 games reveal, which was scheduled for Thursday, has been delayed indefinitely.

The event, which was initially scheduled for Thursday June 4th, promised the fist big reveals for some of the PS5’s titles. A further look at the game’s controller, as well as possible console reveal, had also been teased.

In a statement across social media, PlayStation said the following: “We have decided to postpone the PlayStation 5 event scheduled for June 4.

“While we understand gamers worldwide are excited to see PS5 games, we do not feel that now is a time for celebration and for now, we want to stand back and allow more important voices to be heard.”

The news of both Call of Duty’s delay, and the PS5 reveal’s delay, has been met with criticism online. While many believe that issues of human rights and politics should not be intertwined with the entertainment industry, the reality is that they are.
