After many, many months of waiting, Call of Duty: Warzone has finally landed in all its glory, but it’s not exactly perfect. As with pretty much all new releases nowadays, Warzone has come with a lot of bugs and issues that developer Infinity Ward will be patching out in the coming weeks/months.
One of the biggest issues facing Warzone players right now is the game’s kill credit. A number of people have reported that they’re not getting the credit when killing an enemy, which, for a Battle Royale game, is far from ideal.
Infinity Ward’s co-design director, Joe Cecot, has confirmed that the team is aware of the issue, even promising the problem will be patched out in the game’s first update. Cecot also implied that the bug was known before the game launched, but a fix couldn’t be implemented in time for day one.
Sharing the news in response to a player query on Twitter, Cecot said: “In the next title update (larger update) the person who downed will get the kill credit. The change just missed release.”
Sadly we don’t know when this update is on the cards for, but seeing how fast Modern Warfare updates came in, it hopefully won’t be too long to wait.
Speaking of the newly-launched game on the Activision blog, the company writes: “Call of Duty: Warzone is a new free-to-play, massive combat experience from the world of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare®. And we mean massive: Warzone delivers a huge gaming experience for up to 150 players in the incredibly expansive map of Verdansk.”
Confirmed vehicles for Call of Duty: Warzone include the ATV, Tactical Rover, SUV, Cargo Truck and Helicopter. The map itself is roughly four times the size of Blackout, and will support up to 150 players per match.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available, for free, on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
