It seems as though Activision may have accidentally leaked the news that Call of Duty: Warzone is headed to mobile.

In a now-removed job post, Activision was apparently searching for a “Executive Producer, Features [WZM].”
If “WZM” isn’t enough evidence for you, the job listing also specifically mentions the successful candidate will be involved with “a new AAA mobile FPS in the Call of Duty franchise,” later stating the applicant will have to “improve upon the Warzone formula.”

Though this doesn’t directly state the job listing is for Warzone Mobile, there’s enough evidence here to raise some eyebrows. The fact the job listing is now gone is also a very interesting turn of events (the website states the position is filled, though it’s not clear if that’s the case, or if it’s been deleted). You can see a copy of the listing here, thanks to Newsweek.
As always with leaks and rumours, take this one with a grain of salt for now. If Warzone Mobile is happening, it’s likely that the game will be tied into the launch of the next mainline Call of Duty game, Black Ops Cold War.

In case you missed it, Black Ops Cold War will take place in the early 1980s during – you guessed it – the Cold War. The Cold War was a tense time in history when World War 3 was expected to happen at any moment, as two titans refused to play their hands when it came to their nuclear weapons. Nuclear war may not have happened in real life, but who knows what might happen in Call of Duty.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is due to release on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 13 2020. Next-gen versions of the game will also be available. As for the playable beta, PlayStation 4 gamers who’ve pre-ordered a digital copy of the game will be able to play from October 8 – 9. The PS4 Open Beta will run from October 10-12.
Xbox One and PC Early Access Beta will start October 15 – 16. All platforms will be able to play the beta October 17-19.
