Cattails: Wildwood Story is a new cozy life sim where you play as a wild cat, and it has absolutely crushed its Kickstarter goal.
The Kickstarter for Cattails: Wildwood Story only launched just last week, and it has quickly become a massive hit. It had an initial goal of $30,000, in just a week it has increased by more than five times that amount, currently sitting at a strong $169,000. Not only that, but it managed to hit that first girl within two hours of the campaign launching.
In Cattails: Wildwood Story, you as a cat will “lead your colony of cats into the mysterious Wildwood.” According to the campaign’s description, you will “stalk prey to find food, defend your new home from dark intruders, and discover fresh herbs & ancient treasures.”
As well as this, you can build up your town for all cats to live in. You’ll be able to cat to know that variety of cats in the game, and potentially fall in love and raise a litter of kittens too.
what else is there to know about cattails?
Unsurprisingly, the game is massively inspired by titles like Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing. There’s definitely some major Stardew Valley vibes too, which isn’t surprising considering it has the same inspirations.

If you’re wondering how a brand new game could do so well on Kickstarter, that’s because it’s technically a sequel! The first game was just called Cattails. But the Kickstarter campaign does specifically note that you don’t need to play the first game to play the sequel.
A majority of the stretch goals have already been hit too, like New Game+, a Museum of Curiosities, and Rival Marriages. The next stretch goal is at $200,000, but considering how well it’s doing, it will likely reach it.
