When it comes to sci-fi horror games, you either have to give it your all or go home, offer the player some real scares and something a little unique to keep us playing.
Upcoming shooter Chernobylite from The Farm 51 is looking like it’s going to tick all these boxes and more, if the newly-released trailer is anything to go by.

Chernobylite has you play as a physicist who worked at a facility at the heart of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. 30 years after the event, you’re back at “the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone” to find your girlfriend.
The game’s official website states: “The game is mixing free exploration of its disturbing world with challenging combat, unique crafting and non-linear storytelling. We will constantly challenge you to:
“SURVIVE
“Craft your gear and weapons to protect yourself from the supernatural threats lurking in the zone. Decide what happens in the world around you.

“PLAY BY YOUR OWN RULES
“Ally or compete with other stalkers of the Chernobyl zone to survive. Each day brings new challenges. Plan your strategy carefully if you want to survive.
“EXPERIENCE
“Maintain your resolve and keep your wits about you – the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant is not what it once was. No one can foresee the horrors that may have befallen your beloved.”
Well, it definitely sounds interesting, and to be honest it looks even better. Check out the trailer below.

Despite being a pretty difficult topic to tackle (350,000 people lost their lives during the catastrophe), The Farm 51 have clearly done their research, visiting the location numerous times, “taking thousands of pictures and scanning the area with drones. All of this in order to provide the most accurate version of the Zone ever.”

The game is slated for an Autumn 2019 release and you can add it to your wish list right here on Steam.
