Chris Hemsworth, known for his role as The Mighty Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or for those old-school hardcore fans of his, Kim Hyde from Home & Away, has donated $1 million of his own money to help tackle the devastating Australian bushfires, which has taken human lives, millions of wildlife, countless family homes and continues to spread taking 26 million acres of land to date.
Via a video on his Instagram, Hemsworth said that “we need is your support and your donations. I’m going to put forward a million dollars and was hoping that all of you could contribute in any way, shape or form. Every dollar counts. That money goes directly to the fire-fighters, the people on the frontline, the people who have suffered, the communities that have taken a hit and who are in desperate need of our support.”
Over on Facebook, a fundraiser started by Celeste Barber has gathered a lot of traction and has currently raised at the time of writing, over £24,000,000, if you can donate any amount, you can do so here.
