CoD Modern Warfare Has ‘Biggest Installation Size’ In History Of PC Gaming

When we said Call of Duty: Modern Warfare might be the “biggest CoD of all time,” we weren’t necessarily meaning the installation size, but it seems as though the game is an absolute whopper if you’re playing on PC.

It’s been revealed that the next addition to the Call of Duty franchise isn’t just the biggest PC install of the series, but it’s actually looking like the biggest install size in the history of PC gaming [via TechRadar].

Modern Warfare will need an absolutely astonishing 175GB of drive space on your PC, which is a considerably amount more than the recently-revealed Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC, which will need 150GB.

The size may present some difficulty for PC gamers – especially if you were planning on picking up both CoD and RDR2!

It seems as though PlayStation might be the best platform to get Modern Warfare on – at least until next year.

According to the most recent Sony State of Play announcements, Modern Warfare PS4 will have access to the Spec Ops Survival mode for a whole year, with Xbox One and PC gamers not getting to play it until 1st October 2020.

Of course, this news was met with a lot of anger from players, with lots of people choosing to cancel their preorders following the announcement.

On Twitter, one user raged: “I have purchased COD every year since 2010. I have cancelled my preorder of Modern Warfare now. It kills me because I was so excited by the multiplayer – but I can not at all support an entire year timed exclusivity for the survival mode.”

It’s rare to see such a long exclusivity deal, and it’s left us wondering just how much money was paid to make this happen…?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches October 25th 2019 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
