We’ve been hearing a lot about the next Call of Duty game, CoD: Modern Warfare, which is due to drop later this year.
So far we know that it’s going to be dark, gritty and a serious step up from previous games in the longstanding franchise, but fans were left divided when it was revealed the game won’t have a battle royale mode.

However, it’s now being suggested that a battle royale will be coming to Modern Warfare – just not at launch.
Known CoD leaker and Twitter user LongSensation recently decided to share some supposed gossip on battle royale in MW, claiming that it’s coming in the form of a free update in 2020.
LongSensation writes: “So apparently Battle Royale in #ModernWarfare will be a free mode to release in early 2020.

“It will be downloadable as a separate game, but also will still be connected to the core game. If this is true then it’s a very good move by Activision.”
Of course, without any confirmation from Activision, take this rumour with a pinch of salt for now…

Speaking of Call of Duty games in 2020, LongSensation also recently had some supposed leaks to share about the next next CoD, which the user claims will be Blacks Ops 5.
Call of Duty 2020 has been under 2 names thus far.

Call of Duty: Black Ops
Call of Duty: Black Ops V
Set during the Cold War. Spans the entire 40+ years and incs Vietnam and Korean War. Described as even more gritty and gruesome than Modern Warfare.
I'm not joking.
Earlier this year Kotaku also claimed that CoD 2020 will be Black Ops 5, and also added that its setting would be during the Cold War. Either we’re hearing an echo, or we’re getting Black Ops 5 next year…
