CD Projekt Red’s upcoming RPG, Cyberpunk 2077, is set to be one of the best games of 2020, but it won’t be forgetting its roots from the sounds of things.
Cyberpunk 2077 is based on a tabletop game known as Cyberpunk 2020, with CDPR snagging the rights to publish a video game set in the same world.
It’s now been announced that the creator of the original tabletop game will be showing up in the upcoming video game with a little cameo for only the most hardcore of fans to spot.
Here's a video of Mike Pondsmith.https://t.co/GNn9hFWISk— AC (@AWCReap) August 13, 2019
Confirming he’s already recorded the role, Pondsmith (sadly but understandably) didn’t give anything more than that away. I guess we’re going to have a pretty serious game of Where’s Waldo on our hands when the game launches!
Despite being nearly a year away from release, Cyberpunk 2077 is already one of the most highly-anticipated games of all time, with thousands clamouring for the upcoming title.
In the game, you’ll play as V, a protagonist who’s almost entirely customisable down to the gender.
You’ll be exploring Night City, a dystopian and lawless community governed by people obsessed with body modifications. From the sounds of things, there’s going to be a whole lot of freedom in the game.
Pacifist runs will be possible, meaning you won’t need to kill anyone if that’s not your thing, and with branching storylines and different routes to take, CD Projekt Red has said it’s going to take at least three playthroughs to fully experience the game as a whole.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be releasing on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, April 16 2020.
