Sony developer, Bend Studio, is hiring for the team’s next big gaming project, which is almost definitely headed to the PlayStation 5. There’s no word yet on what the mystery game might be, but a sequel to the controversially-received 2019 title, Days Gone, is sounding pretty likely!

Bend Studio is looking to hire a number of staff members for a new AAA game. The roles include Art Director, Manager, Game Design and Senior Game Audio Programmer. As you would expect, the job descriptions don’t give too much away, other than referencing a “AAA” game.
One of the roles reads as follows: “We are seeking a Manager, Game Design who will contribute to the artistic vision and development of a AAA game with a specialized focus on creating gameplay, combat, systems, and technical architecture. Just as important is the ability to inspire, empower, and mentor designers through projects and help nurture their larger career goals and plans.”

Whether or not this is for a sequel to Days Gone, or for a new project entirely, is not yet clear.
Days Gone, the open-world post-apocalyptic story of two brothers in a zombie-filled wasteland, has definitely found its audience though it failed to reach the heights of previous Sony exclusives including God of War and Marvel’s Spider-Man.
The game received mixed reviews when it first released, receiving equal parts love and criticism from players and critics. Despite its shortcomings, it’s actually a really fun game and it’s more than worthy of a sequel in my humble opinion.
Earlier this year, a sequel was teased by Days Gone’s director, Jeff Ross, over on Twitter. Ross responded to a fan’s request for a sequel, writing simply: “Stay tuned.”
Late last year, Sony Bend studio director Chris Reece also teased the potential revival of the game in an interview with Games Radar.
“This is a world that we want to keep breathing more life into, and explore many, many different avenues,” he told the publication. “So who knows, we’ll see!”

Fingers crossed, Days Gone fans!
