2019’s Days Gone was a lot of zombie-killing, bike-riding, bandana-wearing fun, despite its mixed reviews. The PlayStation exclusive sadly failed to wow all of its players, but has since developed itself a loyal and loving fanbase.
Thanks to the rocky reception of Days Gone, it remained unclear whether or not Sony was looking to pursue the new IP with a sequel. Thankfully, it looks like Day Gone 2 isn’t only on the cards, but it might be announced soon!
The news comes from a cryptic tweet made by Days Gone’s director, Jeff Ross. Ross responded to a fan’s request for a sequel via Twitter, writing simply: “Stay tuned.”

Of course, that doesn’t give too much away, but it pretty much confirms that a Days Gone 2 is happening, and that we might not have too long to wait for its official reveal.
There’s a small chance that Ross could be referring to DLC for the original game, though let’s hope that’s not the case. I’d happily wait for a Days Gone 2 on the upcoming PlayStation 5.
Days Gone had all the right pieces to make it a classic, and a sequel could easily work on the original’s flaws.
Just a couple of months ago, Sony Bend studio director Chris Reece also teased the potential revival of the game in an interview with Games Radar.
“This is a world that we want to keep breathing more life into, and explore many, many different avenues,” he told the publication. “So who knows, we’ll see!”
A LinkedIn update spotted by DualShockers also suggested Days Gone 2 is now in the pre-production stages.
Bend Studio’s lighting lead Jeremy Vickery updated his LinkedIn page back in November, adding a mention of his work on Days Gone and that the studio’s next project is now in the pre-development stage.
Keep your eyes peeled for a reveal!
