PlayStation 4 exclusive Days Gone launched to a very underwhelming response from players, with lots of people left disappointed in the zombie-killing open-world game. However, Days Gone has since gotten itself a very dedicated fanbase, and if you haven’t played it, it’s actually a really fun game.
It looks like a sequel might be on the cards despite the game’s mixed reception which is great news for those involved in the project. In a recent interview with Games Radar, Sony Bend studio director Chris Reece teased the potential revival of the game.

“Oh yeah, it is certainly a passion of ours, and that’s what we’ve always wanted to do,” said Reese. “This is a world that we want to keep breathing more life into, and explore many, many different avenues. So who knows, we’ll see!”
A sequel to Days Gone might already be underway if a recent LinkedIn update is to be believed. Spotted by DualShockers just a couple of weeks ago, Bend Studio’s lighting lead Jeremy Vickery recently updated his LinkedIn page. It now includes mention of his work on Days Gone and adds that the studio’s next project is now in the pre-development stage.

Of course, there’s no solid evidence of a Days Gone 2 just yet, but here’s hoping that Sony and Bend Studio aren’t done with the new IP.
As this generation of console gaming wraps up and comes to an end, we’re all looking forward to the 2020 launch of the PlayStation 5. Could Days Gone 2 be coming to the platform? Only time will tell!
