Fans of the roguelike hit Dead Cells will be able to sink their teeth into new DLC for the game, which is scheduled to hit all platforms on January 26th.
Developer Motion Twin is bundling the game and the new DLC, entitled ‘”Fatal Falls,” together for a reduced price.
The “Dead Cells: The Fatal Seed” can currently be preordered for £17.99 on the Nintendo eShop. The bundle also includes the previously released “The Bad Seed” DLC, along with the new “Fatal Falls”, both of which would normally cost £4.49. Similar discounts should also be available soon on the PlayStation Store, Xbox and Steam.
“Fatal Falls” looks to be quite beefy in terms of content, with the DLC adding new two new biomes (The Fractured Shrines and The Undying Shores) and a new boss called “The Scarecrow.”
To assist you with these new challenges is also a new arsenal of weaponry, including a flying sword and scythes. If you like to play dress-up, then you’ll also be pleased with the 10 new outfits the update provides.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the premise of Dead Cells, you control corpses as a weird slimy creature, using them to traverse a Metroidvania-styled dungeon. If you’re familiar with roguelike games, then you’ll know this ain’t no walk through the Mushroom Kingdom, with mechanics such as permadeath constantly working against the player and their progress.
Motion Twin also made a point of announcing that the “Malaise Update” that hit PC last year will also be coming to consoles in February.
According to the patch notes, the update provides changes to the way the game’s virus meter works (a mechanic that activates different effects at set tiers).
Dead Cells is currently available on a multitude of platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as PC and mobile devices.
Are you looking forward to the release of the Dead Cells “Fatal Falls” DLC?
