Dead Cells Is Adding Hollow Knight To The Game

Dead Cells developer Motion Twin have announced that the little bug that could, The Knight From Hollow Knight, is joining the game, and they’re coming today.

Motion Twin has been teasing indie guest characters joining the game since the beginning of the month. And the latest and last character to join the roster is The Knight. Though as the tweet announcing the news states, they’re a bit too shy to show their face. But the gif included in the tweet does show Dead Cells’ main character using The Knight’s nail to bounce off of enemies, just like in Hollow Knight.

Fans suspected that The Knight would be the final character, as a teaser post showed the Dead Cells’ protagonist coming across a bench from Hollow Knight. Benches acted as checkpoints in Hollow Knight, as well as were just a nice way to take a break from all the action.

The Knight is joining the ranks of some other prolific indie characters. The first character announced to be added to the game was The Drifter from Hyper Light Drifter. Other characters include Juan from Guacamelee, and the Penitent One from Blasphemous.

The update coming today is cleverly titled, “Everyone is here!” an obvious reference to the second trailer for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It’s also the 26th free update to come to the game. For the time being, this is the closest we’re going to get to new Hollow Knight content. That Hollow Knight: Silksong release date reveal is sure to be coming any day now.
