Devs Confirm Modern Warfare Mini-Map Update Not Happening

With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season One right around the corner, all eyes are on Infinity Ward to see what the company will be bringing to the table.

It’s now been revealed just what we can expect from the Season thanks to Twitter, but YouTuber Swagg has gotten even more details straight from the devs.

In a video interview [via MP1st], Swagg sat down with the game’s Co-Design Director of Multiplayer, Joe Cecot, to talk about what the community wants from Modern Warfare, and whether or not we’ll get it.

Although Modern Warfare is already loved by millions of players, it’s far from perfect, and one of the biggest community bug bears right now is the game’s mini-map.

The mini-map has seen a lot of changes that have left players pretty peed off, and Cecot weighed in on whether the map will be updated due to the backlash.

As Swagg explains in the video above, when asking Cecot about the maps it was a “a short conversation.” Cecot explained that the mini-map is just how Infinity Ward intended, and therefore won’t be seeing any changes or updates despite the controversy.

Cecot explained how the map is part of the game’s design, so players don’t “get hunted.” So, best get used to it then.

Not everyone is taking issues with the new map though. It takes a bit of getting used to, but as the player in the tweet above states, it’s not the “worst thing to happen to CoD.”

As for Modern Warfare Season One, it’ll be dropping on December 3rd across all platforms, we’ll be treated to three new multiplayer maps, a new Ground War map, two Gunfight Maps, new multiplayer modes, weapons, and Spec Ops experiences. I’m ready!
