Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is about to open its first Season and Infinity Ward has just revealed its content roadmap for Season One.
Sharing the news on Twitter by way of a lovely infographic, the official Call of Duty page describes it as their “most ambitious season of content ever.”
Dropping on December 3rd across all platforms, we’ll be treated to three new multiplayer maps, a new Ground War map, two Gunfight Maps, new multiplayer modes, weapons, and Spec Ops experiences.
The three multiplayer maps will be: Crash, Shipment and Vacant.
The new Ground War map will be: Port.
New 2v2 Gunfight maps will be: Cargo, Atrium and more.
Multiplayer modes will be: Reinforce, Gunfight OSP, Infected.
New weapons include the RAM-7 and Holger-26.
New Spec Ops Experiences include: Bomb Squad, Grounded, Just Reward, Pitch Black and more.
There’ll be a free limited Battle Pass, and a premium one if you want all the extras, and it’ll be launching simultaneously across Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4.
Not everyone is thrilled with the upcoming offerings though, with lots of people across social media criticising the choice of maps for being reused.
One user complained: “Kinda confuses me. We complained that Black ops 4 was a recycled black ops game with all old maps but here’s MW first dlc with all old maps and we are happy and saying they are moving in the right direction. One of the regular maps couldn’t be new?”
Another said: “1. None of those multiplayer maps are new
2. This is not an ambitious season of content, this is content that didn’t ship with the game because our fanbase is too stupid to realize all of the maps that are being held back could help to make this game better than it is now. ZZZzzz.”
Meanwhile, the game itself is still getting updates, patches and bug fixes to help with general playability.
