Diablo 4 Season 1 Start Date – Everything You Need To Know

With it almost being a month since Diablo 4 was released, players are looking forward to the RPG’s first season. Luckily, there isn’t long to wait.

With the majority of players having completed Diablo 4’s story, its upcoming seasons will give them an incentive to keep exploring the world of Sanctuary. Seasons will not only provide extra content but they will also feature battle passes that reward you with new items and cosmetics.

Diablo 4 Season 1 Start Date

The start date for Diablo 4 Season 1 is expected to be around Mid-July, over a month since the game’s launch. This will have given players enough time to complete the story which is a requirement in order to dive into the new content.

Although there is no specific date yet, the game’s general manager Rod Fergusson revealed that we will be hearing a date next week.

As mentioned, Season 1 will add “additional gameplay features, questlines, Battle Passes, Legendary Items, class balance changes, quality-of-life improvements, and much more.”

Battle Passes

Each season (released quarterly) will also come alongside a new battle pass. There will be three to choose from:

  • Free tier – The first and standard tier will be free to all players. It will offer limited items but players can still work their way through 27 tiers.
  • Premium tier – The first paid tier will cost around $10 and will have 63 tiers to work through.
  • Accelerated tier – The most expensive option, around $25, will feature all the exclusive content available. Additionally, you will unlock twenty tier skips and a unique cosmetic item.

As with every battle pass, you will climb your way through the tiers by earning XP via gameplay. You can earn XP in Diablo 4 by completing quests, defeating world bosses and world events, completing challenges and more.

The tier rewards will include everything from cosmetics for both your character and mount, Murmuring Obols (in-game currency), emotes, Smouldering Ashes and titles.

New Character

Last but not least, Blizzard has announced that you will need to create a new character with the start of season one.

Although this hasn’t been received well, the silver lining is that as long as you have completed the story on at least one character, you can skip the campaign and dive straight into the new content.

Additionally, you will still have access to any Waypoints, Renown, Altars of Lilith and map discoveries you have already unlocked in previous playthroughs.
