Disney+ Confirms It Will Have Xbox One And PS4 Support At Launch

Disney+ has confirmed that it will have Xbox One and PS4 support from day one of launch.

Thegamer reports that Disney released a huge list of devices that will support the brand-new streaming service. And luckily for us, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 were both included.

Disney+ will feature original content in the Star Wars and MCU franchises, as well as all the Disney content we secretly love.

The company recently revealed a new streaming bundle due to launch in the US later this year.

The bundle, which includes Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ isn’t just going to be incredibly easy on the eyes, but it’s even going to be easy on the wallet too, because it’s actually as cheap – if not cheaper – than other streaming services available right now, including Amazon Prime Video and Netflix.

The package deal will cost just $12.99 a month and will be available from November 12th, 2019.

The news was confirmed by CEO Bob Iger during a recent investor call [via The Verge]. Right now, Hulu costs $5.99 a month with ads and ESPN+ costs $4.99, meaning you’re only paying a couple of bucks more for the entire package.

As for whether or not the deal will be going overseas, Iger explained to investors the company doesn’t have “anything to announce right now in terms of markets,” which is a little sad for those outside of the US.

There are, of course, lots of distribution and licensing issues raised by taking Hulu and EPSN+ to other countries, but I’m remaining hopeful.

For now, the plan is to launch in America on devices including “Amazon, Apple, and other distributors,” said Iger, before admitting that Disney has yet to put pen to paper and finalise any deals with these companies.

“We feel it’s important for us to achieve scale quickly, and we think it’s going to be an important part of that. They’re all interested in distributing the product,” he said.

Interestingly, Iger added that Disney+ is “the most important product the company has launched in [his] tenure.”

“That $12.99 bundle offers consumers tremendous volume, tremendous quality, and tremendous variety for a good price.”

Just bring it to the UK, please?!
