Hori is known for making some weird, wacky and fun controllers, but this Dragon Quest-themed one has to take the cookie (if there is a cookie to take).
Unveiled during E3 2019, Hori’s latest controller might seem a little familiar as the company’s created several similar-styled versions in the past, most recently for the PlayStation 4.

The Dragon Quest Slime Controller is basically a blue ball-shaped controller made to look like the game’s iconic Slime.
The controller features some funky-placed buttons that can’t really be that easy or comfortable to use. However, it has a face and it’s cute AF.
If you don’t really fancy trying to win a battle of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with the thing then you’ll be pleased to know it comes with a cardboard display stand and a little crown, y’know, for when the lil guy’s feeling fancy.

The controller is launching for the first time on the Nintendo Switch thanks to the upcoming Dragon Quest content that’s about to hit the console.
Dragon Question 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age was recently revealed for the Switch, and the infamous Dragon Quest Hero character is the latest playable battle warrior to join the roster of Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

If you’re already setting your sights on playing all this lovely Dragon Age goodness with your new Dragon Quest Slime controller then you might be out of luck.
The controller will be launching in Japan this September for 10,778 yen (around £80 GBP), but there’s no word yet on whether or not it’s coming to the West.

Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age will be releasing on 27th September 2019, so hopefully Hori will help us out and release that lovely weird blue controller here for us too?
Here’s hoping!
