Dredge 2023 Roadmap

This news comes courtesy of a PlayStation blog post detailing the upcoming changes to Dredge.

The first update will be arriving this month and will introduce map markers to the game. This will allow players to highlight points of interest on their map to keep track of their adventures. Additionally, the update will include balance updates and fixes.

The second update will introduce two new modes – photo and passive. The ‘passive’ mode will be for those who wish to experience more relaxing gameplay. It “caters to players who prefer a less intense experience. Monsters that usually attack fishing boats will no longer be aggressive, allowing players to focus on fishing and enjoying the serene surroundings.”

The photo-mode will also introduce a new character to Dredge who will help you unlock the ability. They will also give you some hints on what to photograph to make it a much more immersive experience.

The third update (all of which will be free) will launch sometime between July and September and will add new customization options. You can paint your boat as well as hoist up a flag of your choosing.

Paid DLC

Once all of the free updates have rolled out, players will be able to access a paid “but entirely optional DLC.” Although it is yet to have a title, we do know that you will be exploring the Ironhaven Corporation on your vessel.

It is also set to launch sometime between October and December according to the roadmap.

“They’re looking to establish an innovative drilling operation in the area to revitalize the towns and populations, but their ultimate goal is unknown. As you gather materials to construct new buildings and biomatter to fuel the rig, meet new characters, craft new equipment, and catch new fish, you may uncover the truth behind their potentially nefarious operations.”
