Dying Light 2 Goes Gold, New Gameplay Revealed This Week

Dying Light 2: Stay Human, the post-apocalyptic open-world zombie horror sequel has gone gold! Meaning that’s almost ready to launch.

Going “Gold” back in the day used to mean a lot more. When a game went “Gold” it often meant that the game has been fully developed and is ready to be sold at retail. However, that term has changed somewhat in the modern-day.

Today, going Gold means that the main cycle of development has been finished and it’s now at the polishing up stage ahead of the launch. To be fair to Techland, Dying Light 2 has been delayed a lot and with it now releasing in February, the developers have plenty more time to polish up the game.

We are very excited about this and now we can truly feel that this is actually happening! After so many years of hard work we are proudly looking forward to the release of Dying Light 2 Stay Human,” said Tymon Smektała, Lead Game Designer.

“There are still some upgrades and tweaks to add”

Smektała added: “This is it. The final and crucial moment for us. The game is ready to be manufactured, but we will not slow down. The fact that the game is done, and we hit the gold status two months before the release is a great sign, but it doesn’t mean that our work ends here. There are still some upgrades and tweaks to add, and community feedback to implement, but the base is solid and ready to play. I’m extremely proud of the whole team!”

Furthermore, as well as going gold this week, we will also be treated to 15 minutes of new gameplay. On Thursday there will be a new episode of Dying 2 Know. The latest episode will be hosted by Jonah Scott, the voice of the main protagonist, Aiden Caldwell. He will also be joined by the popular streamer, Leah.
