EA has revealed the brand new development studio which will be working on Skate 4 (or at least the next Skate game, whatever it might be called). The new studio in question is Full Circle, based in Vancouver, Canada.

The news was shared on the official Skate Twitter page. The announcement read as follows: “Hi! Yes, we’re still working on the next Skate and we officially formed a studio to prove it!”
“We’re all about having fun and making great games that people want to play with their friends,” reads the mission statement on the Full Circle website.
It continues: “We’re working on the next evolution of Skate™, and set to deliver an experience that will embrace and build upon everything our community found special about the previous games.”

Full Circle will be led by Daniel McCulloch, the former head of Xbox Live at Microsoft. McCulloch will be joined by Deran Chung and Cuz Parry, the two creators of the original Skate games.
“The fans wished Skate back into existence and we want them involved in the process from development to game launch and beyond,” said McCulloch.

The last time that we were treated to a main entry in the Skate series was 2010’s Skate 3 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. So to say that a new release is long overdue is an understatement!
At this time there is no release date for the fourth main entry in the Skate series, but it’s probably safe to assume that it won’t arrive until 2022 at the least.
