A development studio based in Japan has given its employees the day off to play Elden Ring by FromSoftware. How awesome is that?
I think most of us can relate to having a day off from work to play a big release that we’re excited about. Sometimes we are able to book the day off work and other times, we may be forced to pull the ‘dodgy kebab ’card, right?
What if your company just gave you the day off without even having to ask or even having to pull the dodgy kebab card? Well, as reported by Kotaku, that’s exactly what the studio Pocket Pair’s did for its employees.
Other than having the enjoyment of being given a free day off work, Pocket Pair bosses said they “imagine that [staff] cannot focus on work” on the launch day of Elden Ring. Furthermore, bosses are even allowing staff to have a long weekend by giving them Monday off if they wish.
If this story sounds familiar, then there’s a reason. Back in March 2021, another Japanese developer called VR and AR Software gave its employees the day off to play Monster Hunter Rise on the Nintendo Switch.
