With two years in early access and six content updates, Everspace 2 is finally ready for full release on April 6 for PC.
Everspace 2 has had a long road to get to where it is today but with a full release less than two months away, it’s finally time for players to take to the skies. With a PC release coming on April 6 and Playstation 5 and Xbox series consoles receiving it this summer, the game has come a long way since its Kickstarter in 2015.
Despite ROCKFISH Games initially planning for release on Playstation 4 and Xbox One, these are no longer going ahead. “Downscaling EVERSPACE 2 to those platforms does not hit the level of quality that we want to deliver,” said Rockfish CEO Michael Schade.
Price changes
With its last update released back in November, it appears the game is getting its last few tweaks before its release. The looter-shooter will be raising the PC price from $40 up to $50 on February 20 to accommodate its added content. However, a physical deluxe edition will be available for next-gen consoles worldwide. More information is expected to come soon about this.

Full release
With Everspace 2 coming a long way since it first began in early access, the full release will see all-new enemies, customisation options, boss fights and trading maps.
Additionally, a new Companion will be available as well as a whole extra star system. Although 1.0 will contain the whole story, Schade assured fans that “beyond the final chapter of the Everspace 2 story, there’s still a lot to see.”
With those who backed the Kickstarter and pledged for a PS4/Xbox One copy, Rockfish have assured players that they will receive a refund or upgrade to next-gen console. Additionally, console ports and a Steam Deck version will also be available in the summer. For now, a free demo is available on Steam for those who want a sneak peek.
