For the first time ever in the series, you’ll be able to fall and throw things off the Halo ring in the upcoming Halo Infinite.

Fans of the Halo series will know of the Halo rings. Without going into detail of the lore, the Halo rings are planets, which are shaped like rings. Think of them as flat earth, but in the shape of a Hula Hoop.
Ever since Halo: Combat Evolved released on the OG Xbox in 2001, the Halo rings have been nothing but a visual landscape.
Sure you can see the shape of the Halo ring when you look up into the sky, but that’s pretty much about it. If you were to ever venture as close to the edge as you could (often greeted by a wall), you wouldn’t fall off.

For years, fans of the Halo series have had to imagine what it’s like to hurl a pesky little Grunt into the abyss with its squeaky voice fading into the distance.
Well, now it seems that our dreams will come true and we’ll be able to boot the Grunt into outta space as we yell “FOR SPARTA!”
In a report from Eurogamer, during a Q&A video with the developers at 343 Industries fans were able to ask the devs questions which were read out by community manager John Junyszek.
One fan, in particular, asked “In Halo Infinite, will we be able to knock things off the edge of Zeta Halo? Asking for a friend.” Gameplay director Troy Mashburn answered simply, “yes”.
Mashburn went on to elaborate: “I can tell you just recently I was playing and I happened to be driving in a Scorpion tank.
“I came around the corner and I was face to face with a Wraith. Just out of pure luck, pure coincidence, I managed to push the Wraith over the edge and just watched it slowly tilt back and fall into the abyss, which was amazing, unexpected and it was just such a cool moment that happened just by luck.“

It was also revealed during the Q&A that Halo Infinite won’t have the ability to dual-wield weapons, which seems like an odd exclusion to me.
The developers want to focus mainly on the authenticity of firearm weapons and melee combat. But who knows, maybe the feature will be added before Halo Infinite releases later in the year.
Halo Infinite is set to release at some point in 2021 for Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
